LAST FEASS DOCTORAL WORKSHOP OF 2013, MORE TO COME IN 2014
On December 19, Dr. Nil Şatana (IR) gave a talk on quantitative research techniques in social sciences as a part of the FEASS Doctoral Workshop Series. Dr. Şatana’s presentation covered the importance of statistics both in our daily lives and in our academic studies. During her presentation, Dr. Şatana touched upon different research methods using statistics, and explained different types of statistics. Dr. Şatana also explained the objective of quantitative methods and the steps that the researcher should follow to gain data through quantitative techniques. Dr. Şatana finalized her presentation by discussing how she utilized quantitative methods in her own work. The discussion continued with a rigorous question and answer session.
The next workshop will be given by Dr. Refet Gürkaynak (ECON) and Dr. Dimitris Tsarouhas (IR) on February 06, 2014. The presentation will be titled as “Getting the Most out of Conferences and Workshops” and it will cover issues from networking during conferences to conference organizing.
